Lincoln Bible Church, led by Bishop Ken Giles and wife, Pastor Sheila Giles, relocated to Hempstead in August of 2017 from the Pearland / Rosharon area. Originally, Lincoln Bible Church began and was founded in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area in 2000. Bishop Giles states the goal of Lincoln Bible Church is "being able to serve the community and minister to their needs."
In addition to regular church services, Lincoln Bible Church offers certification training in the area of Christian marriage and family counseling, a fourteen week training program. Other services provided to the community include pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling and seminars, and Christian leadership training and certification. The church also has an event center available for weddings, conferences, revivals, and other Christian oriented gatherings.
Since moving to Hempstead, says Bishop Giles, Lincoln Bible Church has provided leadership training as well as counseling services to individuals and families in the Hempstead community. The move to Hempstead, he adds, has been a sort of homecoming for he and his wife personally, as he and Pastor Giles are alumni at Prairie View A&M University. For the congregation, the relocation was simply "following the Lord's lead".
Pastor Giles has a Master of Divinity from Houston Graduate School of Theology. Bishop Giles has a Master of Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Theology from Southeast Texas Theological Seminary. Additionally, he is in the process of completing a dual doctorate in Christian Education and Theology at Kingsway Theological Seminary. He has authored several books on marriage and leadership, which are available on the church web site, as well as information on all their services and other resources, at http://lbchouston.org
